Prices below are starting points for a standard job on a saloon or small SUV. You get a firm figure on the phone once we know the make, the model and the symptom. Nothing gets opened up before you've agreed to it.

How a call-out works

Four steps, no surprises.

  1. You call

    Tell us the car — make, model, year — and what it's doing. A noise, a light, a smell, a puddle, a refusal to start. A photo or voice note on WhatsApp helps more than you'd think.

  2. We quote

    You get a call-out fee and an estimate for the likely repair before anyone leaves the yard. If the job turns out to be something else once we're there, we stop and re-quote. You decide.

  3. We come to you

    Inside Serekunda we're usually with you within 60 to 90 minutes. Further out — Bijilo, Brikama, the coastal strip — we'll give you a realistic window rather than a hopeful one.

  4. Fixed, explained, logged

    We show you the old part, explain what failed and why, and note the mileage and date for the next service. If a part needs ordering, we tell you the price and the wait before you commit.

About the workshop

Nine years of Gambian roads, one van at a time.

Amour's Corner started in 2016 with a single toolbox, a borrowed motorbike and a habit of answering the phone at hours he probably shouldn't have. The idea was simple and slightly stubborn: most breakdowns in Serekunda don't need a garage — they need someone competent to turn up with the right tools and a straight answer.

Nine years later the motorbike is a van, the toolbox is four cases, and the phone still gets answered at odd hours. We work on the cars people actually drive here — Corollas, Sunnys, Picantos, Hiluxes, ageing Mercedes taxis, the occasional Land Cruiser that's been in the family since the nineties. We know which parts are worth buying genuine and which aftermarket equivalents hold up fine, and we'll tell you which is which rather than upselling you.

What we don't do is invent work. If your brakes have another six months in them, you'll hear that. If the fault is something a dealer needs to plug into, we'll say so and save you the call-out fee. Most of our work comes from people who were told about us by someone else we'd already helped — that's the only advertising we've ever needed.

  • Parts sourcing — same-day from Serrekunda and Kanifing suppliers, or ordered in for less common models.
  • Straight quoting — call-out fee and estimate agreed before we set off. No charge for a job we can't do.
